18 October 2000 — Second Wind
celebrated its 20th year of manufacturing measurement equipment with
the introduction of a beefed–up version of its Phaser® Digital
Power Transducer. The new version has a custom–designed 600
Volt CT/PT input connector and a new 480 Volt rating option.
Phaser is a versatile, economical, compact device combining rapid
(40 millisecond update) simultaneous multi–parameter measurements
with high (0.2% ANSI C12.20 certified) accuracy. The new input connector,
introduced in October at PowerSystems World, is designed to comply
with applicable UL and CSA requirements for inputs of up to 600 volts
line–to–line. The current inputs will sustain 500 amps–seconds
surges, exceeding ANSI/IEEE 460–1988. All input terminals are
intended for use with industry standard ring terminals that accept
up to #10 AWG wire.
The new connector has allowed Second Wind to broaden its market reach.
Phaser can now directly connect to 3–phase 480 Volt industrial
and utility applications without the use of external step–down
instrument software.
