Senior Software Engineer

We are an award-winning wind energy monitoring company who is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team and enhance wind energy monitoring systems. Our systems monitor every aspect of large wind turbine powered generation plants including substations, and meteorological towers.

Our Second Wind organization is the leader in independent supervisory control and data acquisition systems for wind energy, with an international clientele. Our systems are based on our own equipment and PCs connected by various types of networks, running our software. We interface to everything from simple wind sensors to PLC-based wind turbine controllers, and substation RTUs.

This position is responsible for the architecting, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment of the next generation enterprise level databases and applications for the commercial wind energy industry. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in database design and development, application development including distributed enterprise level applications and the following skills:

MS SQL server 2005/2000
Stored Procedures, T-SQL, CLR
.NET 2.0 C#
ASP.NET, XML, VB
Integration Services, Reporting Services

Successful candidates will be expected to effectively work independently in an intense, fast-paced environment and ensure that the needs and expectations of each project are met in the established timeframe. We are seeking individuals with effective communications skills, who are self-starters and adaptable. A 4-year degree in computer science or engineering, in addition to five or more years of database design and development, and application development including n-tier distributed enterprise level applications is needed.

Sales and Marketing Internships

Second Wind Inc, a leader in electronics and software for the wind energy industry, is offering two full-time internship positions, one for the Summer of 2008, and one for the Fall 2008 semester. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an award-winning company whose systems monitor every aspect of large wind turbine powered generation plants.

Sales and marketing interns will work directly with senior sales and marketing personnel at Second Wind and will support the company's sales and marketing efforts by:

Preparing sales and marketing materials for distribution
Updating the customer/prospect database
Entering orders in the inventory system
Preparing and distributing press releases and press kits
Preparing for trade shows

We are looking for candidates who have:

Understanding of or high degree of interest in wind energy
Understanding of or high degree of interest sales and marketing
Solution oriented self-starter
Excellent English oral/written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ACT a plus

Compensation will be $10 - $12 per hour depending on skills and experience. The start dates of the internships are flexible depending on the candidate's situation.
