C3 and C3C Anemometers
Manufactured by Second Wind
Second Wind is pleased to provide you with an improved version of the popular three-cup design used in wind assessments for decades. Both our calibrated and uncalibrated versions are manufactured to precise industry standards.
Similar design and identical performance to previous models, with improved materials and manufacturing.
Calibrated and Uncalibrated Versions let you choose which to buy.
Alternate Source - Second Wind is manufacturing the C3 to precise standards, providing another supplier with an improved version of the popular 3-cup design used in most wind assessments for decades.
Calibrated vs. Uncalibrated - Customers will now have a choice to purchase uncalibrated C3 units at a lower price, or a calibrated unit called the C3C. The C3C is calibrated at the highly respected Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Wright Brothers wind tunnel.
Performance Validated - Multiple tests -- including performance data from hundreds of C3 units already in the field, and detailed wind tunnel comparisons involving hundreds of units from the supplier we used previously - confirm that the C3's performance is virtually identical to the industry's top-selling product.
Tougher Plastic - The popular competing sensor has only the rotor made of Lexan. The C3 is made entirely of Lexan, a strong plastic that makes the Second Wind anemometer less likely to break during installation. A distinctive blue vinyl boot is used during testing to cover the wiring underneath the cup body that affects the wind flow around the sensor.
Individually Serialized and Date Coded - Laser-etched unique identifiers allow for ease in tracking
