Features of the ADMS

Turbine manufacturers are eager for you to use their system, so eager that they will often give it away rather than have you buy the ADMS. So why invest in a Second Wind monitoring system rather than use what comes with the turbine?

The Advanced Distributed Monitoring System has many features that make it unique from other SCADA systems on the market. Second Wind is continually adding new features to the ADMS and customizing the system to the needs of each windfarm project.

Third-Party System
The ADMS is an independent third-party system. Second Wind provides all information about the turbines, not just the information the turbine manufacture wants you to know. All fault and performance information is available.

Increased Revenues
With quicker response to problems, reductions in maintenance costs, and immediate understanding of conditions that reduce wind energy production, you will achieve higher revenues. Our systems typically pay for themselves in less than one year.

100% Data Recovery
The ADMS has critical features designed to achieve virtually 100% data recovery. No other windfarm systems have these features. This includes the use of the Communicating Turbine Monitor (CTM). In the event of temporary loss of power or communications infrastructure, our CTM device stores data and operates on its own battery-backed power source to assure reliable data recovery for at least a week.

Calculate Expected Revenues and Energy
The ADMS is the only system that allows you to calculate the revenue and energy your equipment should have produced and compares it to actual production figures. You can track the financial performance of your project/investment and compare it to the guarantees made by your suppliers.

Leading US Windfarm SCADA Supplier
The ADMS has been installed on over five thousand wind turbines in the US and in Europe. In 2003, the ADMS was installed on over half of all new turbines in the United states.
