The ADMS System
The ADMS is a complete control and monitoring
system that includes communications and data analysis. Following are the
main components of the ADMS.
Communications Network
Second Wind will custom design a communications network with wire, radio,
or fiber-optic links between turbines, met stations, the substation, and
the operations center.
Met Tower and Substation Monitoring
Equipment
A specially programmed CTM substation monitor, located in the site operations
building, is connected to a data concentrator located in the substation.
This CTM is also linked to the ADMS Supervisor computer that allows all incoming
data to be monitored and displayed in real-time. CTMs are also placed at each Met tower. You can calculate the energy losses due to wind/terrain
effects as well as from your electrical equipment and be sure your facility
is operating correctly.
Communicating Turbine Monitors (CTMs)
The CTM is the front end of the ADMS, combining smart RTU, data logger,
and high-isolation gateway functions in one instrument. Installed at each
monitoring and control location, the CTM processes data from any source
available, providing reliable systems based on uniform instrumentation

Software for Windfarm Control –
The Supervisor
The Supervisor is the central supervisory computer and software in the
ADMS. Features include: single and group turbine control; substation and
met tower supervision; presentation-quality graphs and reports; remote
access tools; security passwords; and more.
Software for Windfarm Analysis –
Project Analyst
While the Supervisor collect data at the windfarm, Project Analyst is
the data analysis software used in the office. Project Analyst enables
windfarm operators to determine how much energy has actually been produced,
how much energy should have been produced. View the amount and kinds of
turbine downtime. Calculate the financial results of production and downtime.
Training and Support
Second Wind trains the operations staff on the Supervisor and Project
Analyst, and trains the maintenance staff in component and system repairs.
We offer software upgrade for special needs, phone support, system troubleshooting
after events, hardware repairs, and choice of a service agreement.
